 Loving Anthology Editor

Long before the U.S. Supreme Court decided to overturn laws prohibiting interracial marriage, Mildred and Richard Loving made a decision to challenge the status quo.

When thinking about the 2017 50th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia, writer Kim-Marie Walker wanted to honor the Lovings legacy of persistence, and their union. The Loving-inspired anthology is Kim-Marie Walker's vision to compile and unite literary voices of interracial/multiracial relationships.

Walker, a black American, is married to a white American man. Walker's memoir, Zebras from Heaven, Celebrating Interethnic Relationships, One Couple’s Journey Transcending Issues of Race (Onyx Communications, 2007) is based on their marriage of sixteen years. In 2015, the couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
